So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. (Galatians 3:26-27, NIV)
Joey and Mel are a lovely older couple from Nebraska who were all over the news recently because of their unusual wardrobe. They’ve been married for 65 years and for the past 35 years they have worn matching outfits…every single day. They have 146 matching outfits which usually consist of a dress for Joey and a matching tie for Mel. They own a flower shop and work together so they are seldom apart, but even when they are, they have this sweet connection. And, when they are with others in a group it’s easy to tell that they go together, that they belong to each other.
So, what do we wear to show others that we belong to Jesus? I’m not talking about literal clothing. I’m referring to our countenance, our body language, our actions and expressions. When others look at us, what can they see that identifies us as people in love with Christ?
Just something to think about…
